Episode - #0338 (57:55)
The late king of parody songs, Allan Sherman, is probably best known for his hit "Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh", even though he has an extensive canon of classic songs. Mark Cohen has written the definitive biography on Sherman entitled Overweight Sensation: The Life and Comedy of Allan Sherman.
Everyone knows you should never share your salary with your coworkers. But what else is best kept to yourself? Tami Gilbert, an author, nurse and MBA holder who experienced bullying and betrayal at work, devotes an entire chapter to the topic in her new book, Courage to Persevere: A Compelling Story of Struggle, Survival and Triumph.
This week's opening slate is presented by Robert Soroka, a marketing professor at both McGill University and Dawson College in Montreal.
Music heard on this week's show includes:
  • Soulful Strut - Grover Washington Jr. (opening theme)
  • Shticks Of One And Half A Dozen Of The Other - Allan Sherman (featured music)
  • Juicy Fruit - Mtume (liner music)
  • Stink - John Lurie (closing theme)
