Academy Award winner George Chakiris, who played Bernardo, the leader of the Sharks, in West Side Story. He talks about his role in a classic film that is now celebrating its 50th anniversary and also his other career in jewelry making.
Champion figure skater Lucinda Ruh is known as “The Queen Of Spin.” She also is still in the World Guinness record book as the holder of the longest spinner on ice. But her life has suffered for her dedication to her craft. She’s written about it in her book Frozen Teardrop: The Tragedy and Triumph of Figure Skating’s “Queen of Spin”.
Steven Kleinedler is the supervising editor of American Heritage Dictionaries. He’s on to talk about the Fifth Edition of The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language.
